World Economic Forum: Cancer Moonshot

First CES, then JP Morgan and now the World Economic Forum. 2016 is off to a rather brisk pace in the healthcare innovation, biotech and digital convergence space and while many tend to think in ‘US Centric’ terms, the movement and innovation impulse is rather global.

Why you might ask would Precision Medicine Center stream this arguably economically focused gathering of world leaders?

As noted by Francis Collins aka @NIHdirector via twitter this morning, the hashtag is #WEF16 and there will be a ‘cancer session’ with ‘Cancer Moonshot lead’ Vice President Joe Biden aka @VP.

In this session, US Vice-President Joe Biden convenes international leaders in cancer research, cancer treatment and data science to discuss potential opportunities to advance the pace of progress in the fight against cancer.

The ‘Cancer Moonshot: A Call to Action‘ panel features SAP President/CEO Bill McDermott and includes initiative lead US Vice-President Joe Biden. Speakers/session leaders include: Francis S. Collins, Sylvia Mathews Burwell, Jennifer Doudna, Paula T. Hammond, Elizabeth Blackburn, David B. Agus, Charles Sawyers, José Baselga, and Delos M. (Toby) Cosgrove.

Precision Medicine is apparently a core part of the World Economic Forum agenda this year. For complete session details, click here.

Enjoy!
